Bill Strassburg

Bill Strassburg joined Wegmans in 1977. Bill has been a significant influence as apart of Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council and FLX Food.Bill will discuss how Wegmans use of big data is a by product of the digital revolution's effect on the food business. He also plans to address how food affects heath and some of the work that will be done with Rochester Data Science Consortium using Wegmans' data.

Walt Johnson

Walt Johnson is the Executive Director of the Goergen Institute of Data Science (GIDS) and Center of Excellence for Data Science and the Rochester Data Science Consortium. Walt will be providing a brief overview of the UR data science program and the rationale behind its structure. He will be discussing the Goergen Institute, the Center for Excellence in Data Science, and the Rochester Consortium of Data Science (RDSC) as a few talking points.

Art Papier

Art. Papier MD is a founder and CEO of VisualDx.  A dermatologist, and medical informaticist, Art has a particular interest in designing clinical systems that leverage the human ability for pattern recognition, thereby increasing clinical accuracy and reducing diagnostic error at the point of care. Art's talk is entitled "Machine Learning and Improving Medical Diagnosis."
