The 2013 Annual University Technology Showcase was a great success

March 26, 2013

The Center for Emerging and Innovative Sciences (CEIS) held its 13th annual University Technology Showcase on Tuesday, March 26th at the Doubletree Hotel in Henrietta from 1:00PM - 5:00PM. The Showcase was an opportunity for university researchers to present their work to industry as well as other researchers and organizations that promote economic development.  The objective was to stimulate discussions that may lead to industry-university collaboration.  This annual event was very very well received by the local community.  This year there were 50 poster presentations and over 250 attendees. The Showcase featured posters by investigators from the University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, and surrounding universities.  In Rochester alone there is over $400 million of sponsored research each year.  Much of this research has industrial applications and is an opportunity for local businesses to gain awareness of some of the technology being developed which can lead to innovative new products and competitive advantages.  If you missed it this year, we encourage you to attend next year!
